Hotel is dirty. Carpets and curtains not washed for a long time. In restaurant there are sticky plates and seats with spots on it. Food was not fresh and the cheapest. Eggs were served with shit on eggshells! Reception didn`t call for a shuttle bus to the airport even asking them 24 h before. Instead the guy from reception called the "cheapest" taxi but in conversation the driver said he has deal with guy form receprtion and gives him all money.. Then hotel is expensive and far from old city, near bus stations and that is why there is noise.
the best pri ce we could find att the occation
jaffa road is long to walk
The location is quite convenient for a city trip.
The room was not very clean, the service staff room was next to our room and they made a lot of noise quite early in the morning. We travelled on aturday and due to the location of the hotel close to the religious quarter it was very difficult to drive to the hotel because of Shabbat driving restrictions. It should have been mentioned.
The meals are excellent and the rooms are clean and tidy.
I did not appreciate having to pay for internet usages-I that was in bad taste!!
The staff service, cleanliness of the suite, breakfast menu
The Hotel is very nice and clean. The personell at the reception, Nasser and Nurman, very kind.
I had to pay for the Internet connection while it was claimed to free.
The warm receptiion and the accomodatio
Attention of Chief Manager - she is best
the bed was very comfortable and the room was tidy and nicely furnished and decorated -- simple but in a comfortable and pleasant way without being too basic. the staff were pleasant also. Shampoo, lotion etc in the bathroom also good.
I didn't like that the on-line advertisement says that Internet Wi-fi is free and everywhere in the hotel, then when I arrived it was not accurate as a) the Internet is not free there, and b) even though the manager was willing to give me free Internet due to the ad, the room I was in (10th floor) did not get the Internet at all! So the ad should be changed...I would recommend the hotel for comfortable beds but not for Internet access. Please this should be fixed as Internet is expected these days certainly in nicer hotels...
Terrible expierence. We discovered a huge cockroache, and the airconditioning didn´t work. After mentioning it twice they simply sad that it was not summer yet and that therefore the airconditioning in the whole hotel didn´t work. It was half May (so hot enough) and we couldn´t sleep very well because of it... And when booking it clearly mentioned that this hotel should have airconditioning... Furthermore one of the hotel managers tried to scam us with hiring a taxi. So again because of several reasons a terrible experience, and please book another hotel to do yourself a favour.
Check in at 15 00, it is very unusually and not comfortable.
The warm welcoming of reception staff.
The information shown on the website is incorrect. It shows Jerusalem Gold Hotel is right in the Jaffa Gate of old city, but it isn't!
Effort of some members of staff to fix the myriad of problems and issues.
First room had bad odor along with several other rooms in 5th floor that had doors opened after carpet was shampoo washed. There are no "no smoking" rooms designated. Ac was not working in both RMs #807 and #823, phone message not retrievable without any instructions on how to do it and no radio/alarm clock available in both RMs 807 and 823. Refrigerator not working in rm #807. Bathroom sink clogged up and leaking water underneaf, bathroom phone poorly maintained and preventing room main phone to work properly, bathroom without towels in rm #823. Breakfast served in restaurant located in the vclosed basement bad odor area, rather than open daylit area near lobby, which was reserved for a special group only. Spa was closed for repair/renovation. Internet access in the lobby is also charged. This hotel is rundown. Old, poorly maintained and not worth the u$109.00 Daily rate. Horrible choice and bad value. The entire hotel needs renovation, fresh paint, new workable bathroom fixtures.
I didn't answer the question about whether I would recommend the hotel or not. This was our first time there. It may be that for Jerusalem the price was good for what was offered. But in any comparable US city it was a poor value at a high price, and dinner in the hotel particularly a bad value. If we ever go again I will not stay there. We would try something else.
1. Hotel staff was courteous and friendly, but not helpful. We asked one evening how to get to Bethlehem and got one story and asked the next morning and was told that was all wrong. We are tourists in your city and rely on you knowing how to get places. This is a huge failing on the hotel's part. 2. The internet service was poor. It was slow, it keep disconnecting when my wife tried to send and email, very frustrating. The internet pricing is insulting. 40 shekels for 24 hours and 28 for a mere hour? That comes across as insulting and unfair. 3. Food was plentiful, but poor for breakfast and way, way too expensive for dinner. We found much better food at restaurants for much less. 4. Assertive peddlers in the parking lot.
The staff of that hotel is very rude. First they did they asked me to pay 130$ plus to all sum just to spend several hours more inside of my booked room. After spending in Jerusalem some days receptionist called me and asked to go away because I "it^s check out and I didn^t pay for my staying". I had to show all my documents and reservation, and only after proofs the staff had to say "Oh, it^s ok". They even didn^t feel sorry to ask money again and again for nothing. They booked me a taxi and again driver asked me more. It^s eternal process. The service is also not good there: staff in restaurant are very impolite, even don^t say "Hello!". Also I was disappointed that the hotel promised me location in 20 minutes to Old City, but every day I had to go to the heart of Jerusalem as minimum 40 minutes practically running. So I can^t advice to go there single ladies preferring to travel alone and don^t use transport. The location is in Western City - extra orthodox Jewish. It could be dangerous.
